Phyllis Baines is dedicated to working from a faith-based perspective. She has over two years of experience in working with children and adolescents as a full-time Foster Care Social Worker. She also has fourteen years of prior teaching experience as a high school English teacher to bring to the table in responding to the needs of adolescents in a therapeutic environment.
Because of her experience as a social worker, she has knowledge of community resources and collaborative relationships with various agencies. Phyllis is also interested in counseling couples. However, her passion is to work with single women, especially those who have experienced emotional, mental, and physical domestic violence. She firmly believes that Bible based principles along with therapeutic interventions will greatly assist these women in their healing process because of their need to be validated, affirmed and encouraged.
Phyllis is a member of the Women of Wisdom leadership team, the Coordinator of the Single Women’s Ministry Key Group, and a member of her church leadership team. She is an ordained evangelistic minister and speaker, and a published Christian author of three books. Phyllis received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from the School of Psychology and Counseling at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. She has been a member of the Association of Christian Counselors and the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists.
