Chelsea is a Marriage and Family Therapist trainee, and is currently working on her Masters degree in Counseling (Marriage and Family Therapy) at California State University East Bay in Hayward, CA. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from CSUEB (2009), and is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and Psi Chi, the national psychological honors society. Chelsea has been a part of the Fremont Christian Counseling Center since September 2010.
Chelsea enjoys working with children, teens, adults, couples and families of all cultural and religious backgrounds, helping them to cope with difficult life experiences in creative and holistic ways. She is devoted to providing space in therapy for the interaction of spiritual concerns, to whatever degree the client is most comfortable with. Chelsea employs a process of collaboration and openness, including the client in the creation of meaningful solutions that meet their diverse needs. Her areas of focus include: anxiety, depression, spiritual issues, relationship and family therapy, children, identity development, chemical dependency, and developmental disorders.
A second and separate focus of Chelsea’s work is that of providing a supportive and protected space for Pastors/Ministry leaders and their families in times of stress, working to rekindle the joy in each other and their ministry.
Chelsea has served in ministry for 11 years, involving child, youth, and music leadership, and further experience in counseling and supportive care for ministry and families. She has experience in conducting self-improvement and educational groups. Chelsea enjoys art, nature, reading, traveling, cultural experiences and learning, and especially serving the Lord through music. |
