Jason is an IBCC board certified pastoral counselor, a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), an AACC Healthy Sexuality specialist, certified Prepare-Enrich couple counselor and an ordained pastor of the Evangelical Church Alliance.
Jason earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph in 1995, and his Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling Ministry from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in 2006. He teaches Christian counseling classes at Bay Cities Bible College.
He focuses in the following specific areas:
• Couples and sexuality counseling: Specializing in rebuilding intimacy and sexual wholeness, communication in marriages, infidelity, empty nest transitions and spiritual issues.
• Pornography and sexual compulsivity counseling: He has worked with individuals and couples beset by compulsive sexual behavior and helps to establish a workable recovery plan.
• Individual counseling: His passion is to help client with common life issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, terminal illnesses, infertility, life transitions, anger, stress and addiction.
• Group counseling: He forms groups to help people better cope with transitions (career, relational, financial, etc) through the power of an experiential group. The interpersonal nature of a group allows people to engage with others in the here-and-now and receive feedback on how they are received by others.
