Carla Ison, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and a lifelong Christian who is interested in helping others discover and develop their God-given gifts and realize the potential that God has in mind for them in their lives. Her areas of clinical specialization include in the treatment of emotional problems, such as depression and anxiety; management of life challenges, such as divorce, relocation, and physical illness; and work in the area of relationship issues. She also offers career counseling and professional development services.

Much of Dr. Ison's work focuses on unconscious processes, including dreams, to help people identify underlying issues and gain greater access to internal resources and strength. At times other approaches are necessary. Because everyone is different, she tailors her approach according to the needs of the individual.

Dr. Ison received a bachelor's degree in economics from Wellesley College, a master's degree in counseling and consulting psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. She received clinical training at the Adult and Child Guidance Center in San Jose, Santa Clara County Central Mental Health facilities in San Jose, San Mateo County Central Mental Health and Medical Center in San Mateo, Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, and Kaiser Permanente in South San Francisco.
